On the 23rd and 24th of July, the MLP grades 4-6 held a 2-Day Science Fun Camp 2022 at Ban Chang, Rayong.
The opening ceremony was welcomed by Brother Director Pisutr Vapiso. He encouraged the students to participate and experience positive connection not only on the rise of technology but also to get knowledge and orientation towards nature. Students visited the Mangrove Forest at Laem Chabang and got oriented to the “awareness of the importance of mangrove forests to the ecological system”. Everyone was so excited and geared up with their mud boots and planted mangrove plants.
In the evening, The students made and assembled “Merge paper Cube”. It is an interactive holographic object that you hold in the palm of your hand. The cube works by using the camera function in the apps to detect the distinct pattern of the cube’s sides in order to allow the coding to interact. The students explored interactive lessons such as the solar system, the Earth’s core and the parts of the body in the palm of their hand. It was a great way to learn SCIENCE and STEM.
And students assembled an educational solar energy kit and transformed them into six different types of motors -driven models actuated by solar power. The first model they had built was a solar wind turbine. The activity stimulated their creativity and imagination while building their own toys.
Last activity, students visited the “Underwater World” in Pattaya and observed different marine life from the Gulf of Thailand. They walked through the 105-meter long glass tunnel with sea fish and other marine species gliding above them. The students also watched rare beautiful sea fish swimming through vivid coral reefs as well as a variety of reptile species from all over the world.
